“Have you ever visited a garden and had the pleasure of the gardener’s personal tour; that is what “R is for Rose” is like for me. It’s like visiting with her and strolling through her garden and stopping at each rose bush in a conversation about the rose, the garden’s design, changes she made and why, where the roses were obtained, the people that inspired and encouraged her, and sharing memories of special moments. Carolyn takes the time to walk you through her gardens, and her passions.”

“The book is glorious, like eating chocolate, but instead of filling the body, it fills the mind and senses to overflowing.”
Nancy Burgess
“R is for Rose has a brilliant way of tackling the subject with a totally personal touch.”
Roger Phillips
“I read “R is for Rose” immediately and I couldn’t put it down, in fact, my 87 year old father read it as well!”
Harriet L. Buckley
I ordered “R is for Rose” and just received it today in the mail. I had never heard of it before. It is the most beautiful book about roses that I have seen. It's a big book, and the pictures are exquisite. The garden pictures are inspiring, and the arrangements, in gorgeous vases, are unbelievable. There is a detailed section on creating arrangements.

“I've had it for about six months now. Love it. Gorgous pictures, writing is interesting and helpful. I try to only buy hardbacks and this is one of my favorite rose books. I especially like the chapter on GRAHAM THOMAS. Folks if you don't have this book, then I strongly suggest that you go on AMAZON and purchase a copy.”

“To me the best thing about this book is Carolyn's passion for roses and beauty in general. After reading it I just felt like planting more roses.”
“I keep it by my bed–it nourishes my soul.”
Janice Mozley
“I just love this book. It’s wonderful and feels so good. The arrangements are beautiful and so simple. I mean, I can do what Carolyn does. Why haven’t I? Just simple, but so elegant.
“Me thinks, “R” is for showing that Ms. “R”ita can take you down, but you can bring yourself “R”ight back up!”

(This is part of a much longer entry. Cindi’s home (and all her rose books) was destroyed in Hurricane Rita. Soon after the hurricane, she spotted “R is for Rose” in a bookstore and immediately looked up the “R,” and bought the book, which took up precious space in a tiny trailer, but she had to have it.
